Before being able to start up successful production activities. Special measures must be applied for restoring the production surface and bringing the organic matter in the soil to optimal condition again. Dojrana Fresh Produce applied some of the required activities already before entering into the formal lease agreement as the costs were relatively low and gains of a quick start in production are substantial. The Long-term lease contract with the government was signed in the beginning of 2018 and shortly after and the first trials for various fruit (cherries, apples and plums) and vegetable crops were implemented. By the end of 2019 around 100ha have been fully cleared and a soil improvement programme has been implemented. The current bridgehead, comprising a small office, workshop and general storage area, was built on the first block of 56 ha, close to Lake Dojran.

In 2019 17ha Cherry orchard have been implemented including a water basin and irrigation equipment. A tailor made, professional, and modern mechanisation fleet is acquired. For soil improvement Barley has been cultivated on the cleared land.

A fruit orchard consisting of 23ha apples and 23ha apricots have been established at the Nov Dojran plot. At the Bogdanci site 7ha of plums trees have been planted. In the meantime Dojrana Fresh Produced has established a strong and committed local team. Simultaneously with the growing professionalism of the local management team and implementation of efficient internal control mechanisms in the local organisation, a large part of the responsibilities is transferred from InnoFruit HQ to the local organisation.

In 2020 the first fruit ( Apples and cherries) have been exported. Although, still a low volume ( in line with the age of the trees), the quality of the product is very promising.
